Short answer: choosing Codex means choosing a ChatGPT plan

OpenAI says Codex is included across ChatGPT plans, from Free and Go to Plus, Pro and Business, with different usage and features. Plus is the official Codex baseline; Pro comes in 5x and 20x tiers, both measured against Plus, not as fixed message counts.

Codex plans: relative usage, windows and price

Codex has a 5-hour and a weekly usage window and shares one allowance and credit pool with ChatGPT Work, ChatGPT for Excel and Workspace Agents. 5x and 20x are usage tiers relative to Plus; how much work you finish still depends on the model, context and task.

Choose by the shape of your coding work

Start with the lowest plan that is enough, watch the Codex usage page and whether work is actually blocked, then decide on an upgrade.

Plus: a few focused sessions a week
OpenAI positions Plus for "a few focused coding sessions each week". Individual developers, freelancers and small projects that want Codex to review PRs on GitHub should start here; if you hit limits often, check whether simple tasks are going to the heaviest model first.
Pro 5x: long coding days
If Codex reads files, edits code and runs tests for you most days, or you iterate in real time, look at Pro 5x. Codex-Spark works only in the desktop app, CLI and IDE, not on the web or in Codex cloud.
Pro 20x: renewals of existing subscriptions
20x gives 20 times Plus usage, but OpenAI has paused new sign-ups and upgrades, and a subscription that ends during the pause cannot be bought again. Heavy users without 20x can start on Pro 5x and add credits when needed.
Two or more people: compare Business
Teams that need SAML SSO, central billing or CI automation tokens should compare ChatGPT Business Standard and Premium seats rather than share one account; we do not offer Business plans.

A "Codex recharge" is a ChatGPT plan

A so-called Codex recharge is not a separate subscription. Codex signs in with a ChatGPT account, so the recharge activates Plus or Pro on that account; the same account then counts on the new plan in ChatGPT, the Codex CLI, IDE extensions and the desktop app.

Before paying, be clear on who pays for the plan, who controls the account and who handles renewal and refunds. OpenAI's terms prohibit sharing login details or letting others use your account, and shared or transferred logins carry suspension risk; never give anyone, including us, your password, one-time code or recovery code.

Which ChatGPT plans include Codex?

Per OpenAI's official pages checked on 15 September 2026: Free is for trying "quick coding tasks", Go for "lightweight coding tasks", Plus adds Codex cloud, GitHub code review and Slack, both Pro tiers share the same features with more usage plus Codex-Spark, and Business Standard and Premium seats include Codex without Spark.

Codex can also sign in with an API key billed at standard API rates, for local work only, without Codex cloud or GitHub code review. The API follows the same supported-countries list and is not a way around regional restrictions.

As of 15 September 2026, Hong Kong is not on OpenAI's published supported countries and territories lists for ChatGPT or the API; both pages say accounts accessing or offering the services elsewhere may be blocked or suspended.

If a provider restricts the account
A managed-recharge order that has not started can be cancelled for a full refund. A provider price change, regional restriction, account review or suspension does not automatically create a refund right; we review each case by whether credentials were delivered and whether manual work started or finished, and approved refunds return to the original payment route where possible.

What do I actually get when I buy Codex from you?

A ChatGPT Plus, Pro 5x or Pro 20x monthly plan. Codex has no separate fee: once the plan is active, sign in to the Codex CLI, an IDE extension or the desktop app with your own ChatGPT account. Each product page shows the fulfilment options and stock currently available.

Do I give you my ChatGPT password for a Codex recharge?

No. Codex signs in with your own ChatGPT account and control should stay with you. Keep your password, one-time codes and recovery codes to yourself; refuse and stop if anyone, including us, asks for them.

Can I still buy ChatGPT Pro 20x for Codex?

OpenAI paused new sign-ups and upgrades to Pro US$200 (20x) on 10 September 2026; existing US$200 subscriptions renew as normal. Our Pro 20x is for renewing an existing 20x subscription only; new users can start with Pro 5x. Check OpenAI's Pro help page for the latest status.

How long does a Codex recharge take?

We complete managed recharge within 2 hours of payment, 10:00–22:00 HKT daily. Afterwards, check the Codex usage page or run /status in the Codex CLI to confirm the remaining usage reflects the new plan.

What if Codex hits the 5-hour or weekly limit?

Check which window the message names. For the 5-hour window, wait for the reset or switch tasks; Plus and Pro users can buy credits instead of upgrading; only compare a higher tier if you hit the weekly window every week. Codex shares its allowance with ChatGPT Work.

Are your Codex HKD prices OpenAI's official prices?

No. The official price in the table is OpenAI's published US dollar price with its source and check date; the HKD amount is our service total, not an official OpenAI Hong Kong price.
